On the remote island named Lumia, the scientific group AGLAIA conducts secret experiments on humans in search to perfect a new race of extraordinary humans. The House of Eternal Return also doubles as a music venue that attracts some of the world’s most celebrated bands. For those who are eager to take a psychedelic souvenir home, the House of Eternal Return features a gift shop full of wacky and wonderful items, including a single sock.

Moving through the house, finding odd rooms, and exploring the interactive nature of the art is truly incredible. ‍Finally, one of the best kept secrets in the exhibit is a room that isn’t much of a secret at all. It’s our well-beloved Wilderness room, you know, the one that has the fun music produced by doseone aka Adam Drucker that plays once you press all the dogs’ eyes! That may seem like a fun secret enough, but there is a second element to the sequence once the music starts playing. The buttons on the obelisk will light up in a certain order, and if you press those buttons as they light up, something...really cool happens. We don’t want to give it away, but just know we all want to help one another.

‍Some of y’all may have seen this spider hanging above our beloved arcade. Understandably, a lot of you probably thought it was a fun quirky little surrealist piece. It’s definitely surreal but it’s a direct reference to a little-known science fiction novel called Perdido Street Station by China Miéville. The Weaver is an interdimensional spider, traveling through timelines and snipping away what they see fit in a chaotic pursuit of their own aesthetic design while speaking solely in freeform prose poetry.

A tall red robot holding a purple flower blinks and his beating “heart” makes you feel instantly connected and curious to see more. Santa Fe is the oldest state capital and the third-largest art market in the United States. Draped in rich Pueblo-style architecture, and picturesque vistas of desert, forest, and mountains, it’s safe to say that Santa Fe, New Mexico’s enchantment is very dear to our hearts. This is where it all began, the place Meow Wolf co-founders called home when they first started the collective – now where Meow Wolf HQ is located. It feels like stopping by to say hi to a neighbor who doesn’t mind if you grab a drink from the fridge. Plan on spending at least two hours inside the House of Eternal Return. I visited as a media guest when it was closed for maintenance and upgrades, and even without the crowds, I barely had time to walk through the attraction in an hour, let alone dig into the mystery.

Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return is a unique art experience featuring an astonishing new form of non-linear storytelling that unfolds through exploration, discovery and 21st century interactivity. The exhibition follows the story of a family and the loss of a relative "Lex." Each family member has their own story to tell within the walls and papers throughout the house. The house is analysed by an organisation called "The Charter" due to a cataclysmic event surrounding the house involving the multiverse.

The temporary exhibits, like The Due Return at Center for Contemporary Arts Santa Fe, grew to be so popular that a larger, permanent location became inevitable. Meow Wolf has been creating unique environments for the past 10 years, beginning with forts in a rented warehouse that became increasingly elaborate and led to The Due Return, a time-traveling, intergalactic spaceship. The 10 rooms inside the 75-foot long by 25-foot wide ship held artifacts, images, and stories from 200 years of exploration. Although there is no time limit for your visit, there is a strict no re-entry policy. While waiting we saw tons of people sprinting across the parking lot running backpacks back to the car. For more security there are also pay lockers inside to store backpacks. My favorite part was finding all the seemingly boring parts of the house that are actually entries into the multiverse. Stepping through from the real world into the unknown was joyful fun for someone like me normally rooted in the mundane. ‍This is, in our opinion, the most iykyk (if you know you know) rooms in the entire exhibit.
